CREATIVE WRITING TUITION Are you an adult who is interested in 'writing for children' or a child who loves writing? Do you work with a group of either adults or children who would enjoy doing some creative writing? Would you or your group like to be inspired and improve your skills with the help of a published children's author? Teaching Creative Writing to Young Refugees at Marcus Garvey Library, Tottenham CLASSES I TEACH (from September 2007) The Institute, Hampstead Garden Suburb Thursdays 1pm-3pm Writing for Children: An Introduction A one term introductory course followed by two terms advanced/ workshop. Contact: www.hgsi.ac.uk/ 11 High Road N2 8LL Tel: (020) 020 8829 4141 Fax: 020 8829 4131 Email: office@hgsi.ac.uk City Lit Tuesdays 2.40pm-4.40pm Writing for Children Workshop A workshop for experienced authors including those who have had work published or attended an introductory course. Not suitable for beginners.
EMAIL TUITION I offer individual tuition by email for both adults and children. Rather than a general course, I can tailor the lessons to your particular needs and interests. This can take the form of structured assignments or, if appropriate, can involve chapter by chapter feedback on work in progress. Whatever your needs and interests I will work individually with you, offering honest, positive and constructive guidance. After an initial assessment I will give you feedback and tell you what I would advise in terms of a course to suit you. If this meets with your approval we will agree a course of five lessons and a timescale. When you have completed the five assignments you can either stop or continue as you choose. I also offer a critique service to authors who feel they would like constructive criticism and editorial advice on a manuscript before sending it to publishers or agents. I have taught creative writing to a variety of groups including adults recovering from mental health problems and young refugees.
