An Email from the mother of a pupil at Barlby School
My son wrote the e-mail to you yesterday, I did not see it. I would like to say thank you for signing his book. He was so excited to meet you.
He said when he grows up he wants to be writer like you, put his ideas separately in pieces of paper and in the end put everything together.
We are brazilian and we came to live here in 2001, on that time he could not speak any word in english when we came here, now he use to read a book in 3 days. I gave him a set of 12 books in february and he read all in 1 month and half. I was so proud yesterday when he said he wants to be a writer, this is because some wounderfull people like you could show him, is possible to be everything he wishes.
I don't know if you'd remember me but i was one of the children in Park High, year 8, named Mursal (i gave you my name when other pupils in my class did as well for your future books!) But you spoke to us at 11:25 am, And i was the girl who kind of answered lots of questions!! :-)
Anyway I'm really upset that I didn't buy one of your books, the one that i was really interested was Christina's Face!! But i will find that in one of the book stores around here and buy it!! Anyway i really liked the new book you were writing and i would really want to know more about it! Your a good writer!!
